Devonport War Memorial Virtual Speech Competition 2022

  • A prepared speech of 3-4 minutes duration. The winning entry will be delivered at Devonport’s 2021 Remembrance Day Service on Sunday 6November.
  • The competition is open to years 9-13 students either living in our community or attending a secondary school within the Devonport-Takapuna area.
  • The $1,000 prize money will be dispersed based on the number, and quality, of entries received
The aim of the Competition is to raise awareness of the impact on the Devonport community of the casualties of war. 

Poem, Story, Art Competition 2022

  • Young poets, writers, and artists original material
  • The competition is open to primary and intermediate school students either living in our community or attending a secondary school within the Devonport-Takapuna area.
  • Prizes: Based on the number and type of entries received book vouchers, valued at $50.00each, will be awarded. Alternatively, a private one-and-a-half-hour art lesson from a local and renowned artist may be awarded.
The aim of the Competition is to raise awareness of the impact on the Devonport community of the casualties of war.
